This Semester I've studied and experimented with how a turn table works while going deep inside I learned it runs on a electric motor which is a heavy magnet that has wire on it which electricity runs though the wire to make the motor spin.

Here are a few pictures of me doing my work (Getting my education on)

i. In word, what does this graph tell you about the relationship between Batteries and Coil.

The Graph (trend line) is telling me that for the more batteries that you put, it saying the faster the coil spins. The graph measurements technique was possibly inaccurate because some of the batteries may have not possibly been as powerful as each other.

ii. If X represent The number of Batteries used and y represents The number of spin per 20 seconds the equation for this relationship is y=0.9524x+65.06.

iii. Using this equation,it may be possible to predict.

I predict that with this equation you can find out how fast the coil will spin with numbers of batteries that's not on the graph probably even 100 batteries.

iv. For example: ( come up with an example that uses your equation to make an predicition . Show all steps solving your problem.

Example: How many spins per 20 seconds will you get with 20 batteries?

Y=0.9524x+65.00 Round it off to (y=0.95x+65.1)

0.95(20) =19 then 19+65.1=84.1

So the coil will spin 84.1 times with 20 batteries.

v. How might your results be inacurate? What possible errors could have occured that would leesen your confidents in your result?

My result may be inaccurate because of the fact that I hand counted and also some batteries wasn't as strong as others.

vi. How might you change the experiment to reduce or eliminate these errors?

During the experiment I had a chance to record it and then slow the video down to get accurate count but I didn't so I think that would have made a big difference because would have been very on point.

Testable Question: Do the number of batteries actually matter on how fast/how many times the coil spin?

I really couldn't come up with a answer to the question because with the first three batteries I had tested the number stayed the same and then we do not know if some batteries had the same power as others.

Does it actually depend on how big or small the coil is?

Do the clay on the coil mess with how many times it spent?

This experiment connected with my gadget because they both needed electromagnets to keep the coil running and also the belt on the turntable to keep spinning. The only difference is that with the experiment I used batteries for electricity and for the turntable I used an outlet to get electricity. I learned the more electricity the faster the record spins/ the coil spin.

The experiment is helpful for someone who is making a turntable because I wanted to make a turntable that play two type of record disc which plays at different speeds You would need to know how much voltage to put in the electric motor to keep it running at a constant speed.

a. What is the “testable” question that the experiment is trying to answer?
My testable question was "Does the number of batteries actually matter on how fast/ how many times the coil spins.

In the experiment I will use battery packs and use at least 10 batteries than I will wrap some coil and connect it with wire to the battery pack and watch it spin, also I will put a piece of blue clay at the top of the coil and count how many time it hit the top which will time how many time the coil spent around.

c.Identify the VARIABLES (independent, dependent, and controls) being measured, with an explanation of how you will measure each of them.
The variable in my experiment is the independent /control batteries, I will use 10 of them and them dependent is coil I will use one wrap coil than i will scrape it with sand paper at the ends.

The independent variable is the batteries

The independent variable will be measured by many batteries I use.

2.What is the purpose of this component?
The purpose of an electric an electric motor is to rotate the turntable record at a constant speed.

A electric motor is made of six motors
-armature/rotor
-Commutator
-Brushes
-Axle
-Field magnet
-Dc/Ac power supply
Electric motors use magnet to create a motion but with electric motor there are a north and a south the north can attract to a south but it can never attract to it's own for example a south can't attract to another south and a north can't attract to another north.
There are conductor in a electric motor, it is a wire connected to the electric motor which brings electricity and make it run.

4.If there are important sub-parts, what are they? What is their purpose?
The sub part of a electric motor is a electromagnet {electricity and magnetism} it pushes current through the wire.

This Sub Part are pushed though a wire coil that is wound up and it spins, and when the magnet removed it cut off.

It has a grove. There are conductors and it can stop the speed if you touch it.

The torn arm spins the needle .

Neil Postman: Technology Critic Question

1.In this quote, Postman claims that “technological change always results in winners and losers.” He points to the printing press as an example. How does Postman think society changed as a result of the printing press? Who are the winners and who are the losers according to Postman? What changed as a result?
The Postman believes society has changed because of the printing press because it's different and it's an easier way to express your self. The people who lose out are the ones who lose their jobs because technology is here and there not needed anymore. The people one win are the people who make the technology or if it's making them money in any way. The result of the change is people lose their jobs and there a new way of expressing your self or doing daily days.

According to Postman the relationship between technology and education is that technology is easier to understand and that there is no interaction to maximum learning. The postman does believe it a threat and we won't need teacher anymore. I don't think education can slow don't technology but it can make it better.

Yes I highly believe the internet result in winners and losers because people are going to lose their job cause tecnologhy is going to be more advanced people are going to start to get lazy and always depend on technology and only the people who are making the technology is going to be successful.

I believe that what motivates these people is being able to do what they "love" exactly how they want to do it with our restriction and regulation. Richard's view of our technology is saying that people are so willing to take in anything that makes your day easier or that helps you do less work but the are not realizing that there taking away some of their social life and daily activates that makes them the person they are or happy. Our society might be threatened because they might one day take in something that going to destroy living or take away the whole point in life. For example "In hindsight the installation of running water helped break down the ibiecans strong bond with one another, with their animals, and with the land-that had knitted them together as a community. This is showing that technology can break bonds because with every new ting that comes in one less person is needed.

The circut is were all the energy is, the conducter is when you put anything metal on it, it lights up. The insulater is when it isn't on. you will know the circut is closed when it is on.

I know these concepts apply because when the when place metal to the wire and battery it light and when you place paper, plastic or rubber nothing happens i know this beacause i experimented with it. The circuts that were present was wires and metal.

The Amish are people who don't believe in technology because of their religion beliefs. They came to America,Pennsyvlia from Europe because they were being treatly badly because of their lifestyles. The amish do not believe in technology because the feel it disconnect them from the real reason of being on earth.

According to Howard Rheingold the amish dont really adopt a lot of technology just the basics they need to get by. When they do want to adopt a technology the have the bishop/community and discuss the technology and whether it's good for there community or not.

The New Technology is presented to us in extrovagant way some things are in a glass case and some are there for us to sample...they are doing that to make a good attraction to the people eyes making it looking expensive and fancy so we can be excitied about it and want to buy it when they realease.

Key images i saw where phones, computer, home remote controls, mp3 players and tv's is was displayed in a very attrative way.

Key language I heard was these thing were made in Korea, it's advanced, Good for visiters to the U.S

Object like cell phones and mp3 players where tiny and so were some laptops and the tv's were big..there was one computer the was operated like a Tv.

the colors i saw were basically solid like white, blue and black.

Size kind of matter because they are trying to make things tinyer so it can be portable.

I Believe the relationship with human and technology are very close we wouldn't people able to travel like we want listen to our favorite song of even Cook! Technology and it's vaule is very high and we some what need it to survive these days.

My Experience at Samsung was Amazing I got to look at some of the newest technology thats not even released yet which i can tell it going to be a big hit when it does come out "hint hint" the house remote control for me. I pretty sure boom boxes are going to be exctint with all these little mp3 players coming out.
